How You’ll Get Your Beef from CA Wilson Cattle Co.

Buying bulk beef should feel as simple as buying from your neighbor—because that’s exactly what you’re doing. Below you’ll find everything you need to know about how pickup works, what ships, and how we make the process easy and stress-free.

Local Pickup Only (Sedalia, Missouri)

We currently offer pickup only for our bulk beef shares (¼ and ½). All pickups take place in Sedalia, MO—just down the road from our family farm.

Because frozen beef is heavy, bulky, and needs to stay cold, we don’t ship meat at this time. Pickup ensures your beef stays safe and solid from our hands to yours.

How Pickup Scheduling Works

Once your animal goes in for processing, we’ll contact you directly via call, text, or email with your expected pickup date and location details.

Expect about 2-3 weeks between your processor date and pickup. This gives the beef time to dry age, get custom cut and packaged, and be frozen solid—ready for your freezer.

What to Expect on Pickup Day

You’ll meet us at the arranged pickup location in Sedalia. We’ll load up your beef (already frozen and boxed), answer any last-minute questions, and make sure you’re squared away.

It’s a quick process—most folks are in and out in about 10–15 minutes. We’ll be there with a smile and a handshake.

What to Bring on Pickup Day

To keep your beef frozen on the drive home, bring:

Large coolers or totes – Hard-sided coolers work best, but totes with lids are fine too.
Blankets or towels – Helps add insulation, especially on warm days or longer drives.
A vehicle with enough space – Fold-down seats or truck beds work great.

Cooler & Vehicle Space Guide

Here’s a quick guide to help you prep your vehicle for pickup:

¼ Beef: Plan on bringing about ~3–4 medium coolers (or trunk space of a sedan/SUV).
½ Beef: You’ll need ~6–8 medium/large coolers (or back of an SUV/pickup) with the seats down.

Pro Tip: Frozen beef is dense and heavy—boxes are easy to handle, but they’ve got some weight to them. We’ll be there to help load everything up, but make sure you’ve got someone at home (or a plan) for unloading on your end.

Shipping Policy – Merch Only

Hats, shirts, and other CA Wilson gear can be shipped anywhere in the U.S.

All merch ships via USPS or UPS and typically arrives within 5–7 business days. If your order includes both beef and merch, the merch will ship separately.
